BRC Global Standard for Packaging and Packaging Materials
What It Is
The BRC (British Retail Consortium) Global Standard for Packaging is an internationally recognized food safety certification. It covers food safety management, quality, and operational criteria for packaging manufacturers.
Why It Matters to Buyers
BRC certification is a prerequisite for supplying to most major European and North American retailers, including Tesco, Waitrose, Marks & Spencer, Walmart, Costco, and Kroger. Without BRC, a supplier is automatically disqualified from many procurement decisions. It is widely considered the gold standard for food packaging manufacturers.

Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody Certification
What It Is
FSC chain-of-custody certification tracks paper and board materials from responsibly managed forests through to the finished product. It ensures that all paper materials used in our products can be traced back to certified, sustainably managed forest sources.
Why It Matters to Buyers
Sustainability commitments by global brands increasingly require FSC-certified packaging materials. Major brands including IKEA, Apple, Amazon, and Unilever have made FSC-certified packaging a policy requirement. FSC certification also supports LEED building certification and corporate sustainability reporting.

QS
Chinese Quality Safety Production License for Food Packaging
What It Is
The QS production license is a Chinese national government certification required for all manufacturers producing food contact packaging materials for the Chinese domestic market. It is issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).
Why It Matters to Buyers
Any paper tube or paper can packaging that will contact food products sold in China must be produced by a QS-licensed facility. This certification demonstrates compliance with Chinese national food safety standards (GB standards) and is required for domestic market access.
